Sustainable efforts of Fuzzleduck
Making Fuzzleduck as sustainable and environmentally conscious as I can is really important to me. Instead of an art degree, I have one in science. And I spent a lot of time studying the impact of climate change, the effects of toxins in our environment and how this all affects our world. So whilst I’m building Fuzzleduck, it is something I’m not willing to compromise on. Here are some steps I’m already taking to make Fuzzleduck as eco-friendly as I can.
Using Recycled Materials - All packaging, stickers and printed materials are recycled. From card mailers to certificates of authenticity and tissue paper, any material that I can use that’s recycled, I will.
Reducing Plastic - The only plastic in any of my orders is the bubble wrap pouches for frames. I’ve been exploring other options for these, but found it difficult to find an alternative that is quick and easy to use at events that also protects the frame enough. Anywhere I can eliminate plastic, I have.
Low Carbon Shipping - I ship all my orders with Royal Mail - they have the lowest CO2 emissions per parcel for delivery
Supporting Local - I support my local suppliers, all shipping products are from UK businesses. My printers are just 30 minutes up the road, check out Burwell print centre, they’re the best
Going Low Tech - Making an effort to reduce new technology in my business reduced the production of the batteries and materials they need. Last year I invested in a new laptop and phone, both of which were brought second hand, and I will use them until I can’t anymore.
Reducing waste - Any scraps from packaging or paint paper are used for notes, sketches, or repurposed into a new packaging item.
